Automatic Diagnostic System ASD is a solution for military vehicles designed for early detection of failures and informing the vehicle’s users about them. It also collects information from onboard equipment and sensors and then compares any collected information with required parameters to pass on information about any irregularities to an operator in the graphic form. As a consequence, the application of ASD allows shortening of the failure’s duration and repair of the military equipment.
ASD has a modular design – it consists of an input and output layer, and a display for presentation of data which is able to operate consistently even at -30℃. The system allows displaying of information about inspections necessary in the vehicle as well as informing about the scope of work to be performed. In addition, in the situation when a failure occurs, it is possible to record information about conditions under which it appeared, thanks to which it is possible to identify sooner the actual cause of the failure. After prior encryption, information about technical condition of the vehicle can be made available via radio using any means of communication or transmitted via a diagnostic connector..
ASD can analyse the following information:
- level of liquids e.g. coolant, brake fluid, motor oil, hydraulic oil;
- temperature e.g. of liquids, points inside or outside of the vehicle, temperature of key subassemblies such as radars and motors;
- electrical parameters: voltage, amperage, electric energy consumption, efficiency of power supply circuit etc.
- flows of liquids and gases e.g. temporary fuel consumption, quantity of air supplied by the filter ventilation system
- stresses or damages appearing in weak points of the structure
- efficiency of systems having their own diagnostics e.g. engine, onboard computers by means of built-in communication protocols e.g CAN or OBD II.
The options of measurements and data analysis ensured by the diagnostic system are very extensive and final functionalities of ASD are determined by software thanks to which full customization of the unit’s operation to requirement is possible.
