Deployable tactical jumpers are optical fibre harnesses designed for outdoor applications, at least several dozen metres long. They are used to make point-to-point connections, so they are long sections of cable, on both sides terminated with connectors secured using dust caps.
The solutions offered by Radiotechnika Marketing ensure safe (which cannot be interfered or eavesdropped) transmission of data between various and distant elements of the system (e.g. ship – shore; communication node – radio lines; command post – radar etc.). Since they are frequently deployed and retrieved and laid in various terrains, they are designed to ensure high flexibility and above-average resistance to environmental conditions
The major advantage of such lines are hermaphroditic connectors, which allow serial connection of two sections of line in order to build a longer transmission path. Two random ends of any lines can always be connected with each other without any adapters.
KAnother advantage is that connection panels of all connected elements of the system have the same bulkhead assemblies and during unrolling of a long line, you do not need to pay attention to “which direction” the data bus will be unrolled each end of any cable line always matches any bulkhead assembly of system component.
Please note that, not only expanded beam connectors (e.g. CTOS, M83526)can be hermaphroditic. When it is necessary to minimise insertion loss, a solutionbased on physical contact is also possible (TFOCA; NAVSEA 7379171).
Unification is another feature ensuring ease of use – thanks to this, optical fibre deployable tactical jumpers produced for one system can be substituted with the ones produced for another system.
Deployable tactical jumpers utilize cable reel systems and their proper design and construction determine how fast and comfortable mobile optical fibre systems can be installed and removed.
